PENSCO Trust Company, chartered in New Hampshire, in 2001, and owned entirely by our holding company, PENSCO, Inc. is the country’s only single-service special asset custodian for self-directed IRAs and retirement accounts. That means we are totally focused on the self-directed retirement account industry and we have been since 1989, when the first form of our business was incorporated and started serving clients as an IRS approved nonbank custodian. Later PENSCO evolved to become a broker dealer and most recently (2001), we resigned as a broker/dealer to become a bank and trust company. Throughout our history, however, we have exclusively defined our services to be the administration and custody of IRAs invested in non-traded assets, such as real estate and private placements. This single focus has helped us pioneer numerous “firsts” in our industry and we continue to refine and innovate to enhance our services to our customers.
At PENSCO Trust, we combine proprietary technology, built specifically to facilitate smooth, safe processing of investment transactions with our depth of in-house knowledge and self-directed investing expertise. We maintain continuous in-house training for our customer service and business development staff, so that they are providing the most current information when speaking to our clients. Furthermore, we conduct continuing education for customers and professionals, interested in knowing more about self-directed investing through webinars, seminars, symposiums and advanced education events.
As a regulated IRA custodian, we are never in conflict with your investment goals because we do not sell investment products nor do we provide investment or tax advice. You may direct us to make investments on your behalf or appoint an independent advisor to assist you. We can keep you and your advisor apprised as to activity and investment performance related to your account.
If you are new to self-directed investing you may want to tap our Preferred Professionals to assist you. These are industry professionals who assist clients in understanding the rules to prevent prohibited transactions and in purchasing alternative investments (e.g., real estate, private equity) through retirement accounts. Each professional in the program remains wholly independent of PENSCO Trust Company as part of our effort to put clients’ interests first.
